Corps Sans Organes #1

The Body without Organs (BwO) is a central concept in the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari, referring to the potentiality of the self beyond the limitations imposed by social, cultural, and psychological systems of control. The BwO is seen as the self stripped of its social and personal organs, meaning the expectations, norms, and conventions that restrict our freedom and creativity. It is an open, unformed, deterritorialized space where new possibilities and forms of existence can emerge. The BwO is not something that can be directly experienced through the senses, but an underlying force that exists within us, shaping our experiences and actions. The concept of the BwO is used to challenge traditional understandings of the self and explore the potential for a more fluid, dynamic, and creative existence.
